Daily care & maintenance
For starters, invest in a high-quality broom and sweep your new vinyl flooring frequently to remove dirt, dust, sand, grit, and other abrasive particles. You can also use a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar and try the brush and hose attachments to clean edges and other hard-to-reach areas.
With vinyl, you also have the ability to mop the floor with clean, warm water to remove dirt from the surface. Only use cleaning products recommended by your vinyl manufacturer and feel free to ask our team for advice on selecting a safe cleaner. Rinse the surface and dry with a towel to minimize any film left behind.
Treating spills
Even though vinyl flooring is the original waterproof flooring solution, you still don’t want to leave spills and messes sitting for prolonged periods of time. Use a clean cloth to wipe away liquid spills and other common messes when they occur. Always adhere to your manufacturer’s guidelines for tougher messes like wax or nail polish as well as for selecting an appropriate vinyl cleaning product.
