Laminate Care & Maintenance

Daily care & maintenance

Floors can dull when unattended abrasive dirt and debris gets ground down by foot traffic. To keep your laminate looking dazzling, simply sweep, dust mop, or vacuum regularly to remove loose dirt and grit and avoid scrapes on your planks. A good old-fashioned broom will do the trick but using a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar may give you greater peace of mind.

To effectively pick up dirt from between laminate planks, tiles, or along edges, we recommend using a vacuum cleaner brush & hose attachments. The occasional damp mopping will make your laminate floors shine, but you should avoid using excessive water to prevent expansion of the planks. Make sure to promptly and thoroughly use a clean dry cloth to wipe your laminate flooring after damp mopping.

Treating spills

Your laminate floors can handle the spills that occur in an active home, but you still need to act quickly and wipe up spills immediately to prevent stains or potential damage from prolonged exposure. Always follow the manufacturer's specifications! If dealing with a more stubborn stain, use a warm damp cloth and a manufacturer-approved cleaning solution safe for use on laminate flooring. Make sure you consult your manufacturer's care guidelines or website if needed.
