Maintenance Requirements for Warranty Protection
To keep your coverage active, you must first identify which specific warranties apply to your chosen carpet. It is essential to retain your proof of purchase, such as a bill or invoice from your Abbey Carpet & Floor dealer, which clearly shows the price paid for the carpet excluding labor.
Additionally, you must provide proof of periodic professional cleaning performed by a certified service. To maintain your protection, a minimum of one professional cleaning every 18 months is required. These cleanings must use products, equipment, or systems that carry the Carpet & Rug Institute (CRI) Seal of Approval. Lifetime Stain & Soil Protection
The Exclusive Lifetime Warranty covers Infinity, Alexander Smith, American Showcase, Pet Defense, and Legendary Beauty collections against common food, beverage, and dry soil. Coverage is non-transferable and lasts for as long as you own the carpet. Please note that specific substances like bleach, oil-based materials, and caustic chemicals are excluded from stain coverage.
Abrasive Wear & Installation Standards
This warranty guarantees that your carpet will not lose more than 10% of its fiber due to abrasive wear. To remain eligible, the carpet must be installed with a cushion that is 7/16″ thick or less with at least a 6-lb density. Normal changes in appearance, such as crushing from furniture or matting, are not considered fiber loss and are not covered.
How to File a Claim
If you encounter a problem, notify your Abbey Carpet & Floor dealer in writing. Your claim must include a description of the issue, a copy of your original invoice, and proof of required maintenance (cleaning receipts). Prompt action is essential, as cleaning affected areas immediately increases the likelihood of successful stain removal.
